Licence and purchase terms
What one purchase covers, what you can do with the files, and when we refund.
Version 1.0 ยท 4 November 2026
Applies to: Carbon Chain Code toolkits, guides, workbooks, templates and bundles bought through Gumroad.
These terms are short on purpose. If anything is unclear, email contact@carbonchaincode.com before you buy.
1. Who the licence covers
One purchase licenses one organisation: one legal entity, including all of its own sites, factories and employees. Everyone in that organisation may use the files for the organisation's own work.
A group company, parent or sister company needs its own licence. Bundles follow the same rule: one bundle purchase covers one organisation for every product in the bundle.
2. What you may do
- Use the files for your organisation's internal work, for as long as you want. The licence does not expire.
- Edit, adapt, translate and extend the workbooks, forms and templates. Change columns, add sheets, rename fields and rebuild them in Notion, Power BI or another system.
- Share your completed records and outputs with customers, suppliers, auditors and certification bodies. For example, you can send a filled-in supplier assessment, audit report or data submission.
- Print the guides for internal training.
Consultants and service providers: you may use your licensed copy to deliver work to clients and hand over completed outputs. Each client organisation that wants its own working copy of the toolkit needs its own licence.
3. What you may not do
- Resell, give away, sublicense or publish the files or the blank templates, in original or modified form. This includes uploading them to shared drives, marketplaces, course platforms or public websites outside your organisation.
- Send the blank toolkit to suppliers or customers. Send them the forms or extracts they need to complete instead.
- Remove the Carbon Chain Code name or edition notes from the guides.
- Claim that you created the toolkit, or present it as certified, endorsed or approved by any standards body, regulator or certification scheme.
- Use the content to train or fine-tune a commercial AI model, or to build a competing product.
4. What the toolkit is, and is not
The toolkits are practical working aids written from manufacturing, audit and supply-chain experience. They are not legal advice, an assurance opinion or a certification, and using them does not make a site compliant with any standard or law.
Worked examples use fictional data. Regulations and standards change, so check the official source for your reporting year before relying on a date, threshold or requirement. Decisions made with the toolkit, such as approving a supplier, closing a finding or releasing a data value, remain your organisation's decisions.
The workbooks were tested in desktop Microsoft Excel (Microsoft 365, Excel 16.0, Windows). Other spreadsheet programs may not support every formula, chart or drop-down. Notion and Power BI material is a guide to rebuilding the structure manually; no native files or integrations are included.
5. Updates and support
- You receive free updates within the same major edition. For example, buyers of edition 2.x get 2.1, 2.2 and later 2.x releases. Updated files are sent through Gumroad to the email used at purchase.
- A new major edition (3.0) may be sold separately. Owners of the previous edition may be offered a discount.
- Support covers file problems: a file that will not open, a broken link, a formula error or a calculation that does not match the guide. Email contact@carbonchaincode.com with the product code and a short description. We aim to reply within three working days.
- Support does not include consulting on your specific situation. For hands-on implementation, see Sustainability Frisk (sustainability-frisk.com).
6. Refunds
Because the files are delivered instantly and cannot be returned, purchases are generally final.
We will refund in full, within 14 days of purchase, if:
- a file is missing, corrupted or will not open, and we cannot fix it within five working days of your report; or
- the product is materially different from its description on the product page.
To request a refund, email contact@carbonchaincode.com with your Gumroad receipt. Refunds are processed through Gumroad.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the consumer law that applies to you.
7. Liability
The files are provided as working tools. To the extent the law allows, Carbon Chain Code is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from their use. Our total liability for any purchase is limited to the price you paid for it.
8. Payment and tax
Gumroad is the merchant of record and handles payment, invoices and VAT or sales tax. Your Gumroad receipt is your proof of licence.
Short version for product pages and Gumroad listings:
One purchase = one organisation, all its sites and staff, forever. Edit freely and share your completed records; don't resell or redistribute the blank toolkit. Free updates within the same edition. Refund within 14 days if a file is faulty or not as described. Not legal advice or certification. Full terms: carbonchaincode.com/licence
